Swing Dance classes

SwingStateLondon

Dance with everyone and anyone in South West London!

Hello, dancers!

Welcome to SwingState! We run small, friendly Lindy Hop classes for Beginners and Int/Adv at the Lantern Arts Centre in Raynes Park, London.

Classes are every Wednesday evenings, taught by Dawn and Moh. You can find out more about us on our The Team page.

Scroll down to see our upcoming class dates and RSVP so we know who’s coming — especially if you’re new. We also throw dance socials with live music at the end of term for our students!

Dance, learn and make friends

Our classes are small and tailored to our students. We focus on helping you become a confident social dancer, so you can dance comfortably with people wherever you go in the global Lindy Hop community.

We also love performing! Our students have the chance to dance for friends and family at least once a year.

Most importantly, SwingState is about having fun, making friends, travelling to dance events together and feeling great in your own body through dance.

Come and join our community!

Solo Jazz Level Notes:

Improver's level, but I am very accommodating. Just basic coordination and a determination to go for it and practice at home will do!

Improver's Level Notes:

1) You would have attended more than 10 swing classes from other schools before Or

2 ) You would have attended two - three swing state absolute beginners courses Or

3) You know you are a fast learner in dance or have experience in other partner dances Or

4) You are an experienced lead/follow and want to learn the other role.

5) We told you personally to come :)

6) If you are unsure of your level, just attend the Absolute beginners' class as a drop in beginner and we will dance with you then and help you decide on your level. (Pay for one class only).

End of Term socials!

In venues in Wimbledon

Since May 2026, we have been hosting end-of-term parties for our students at venues in Wimbledon. These parties provide our students with the opportunity to practice what they've learned in a social environment and meet others in the Lindy Hop dance scene. We play the best music, feature top DJs, and now have our own house band! We understand that it can be intimidating to attend one of the many Lindy Hop parties in London, so these events are specially designed by us, for us. Check out the video of the latest social we dance at the incredible Dog and Fox in Wimbledon. The venue was divine, and the atmosphere was amazing! Of course. more than just our students turned up. Thank you everyone in London and beyond who supported us. More details for the next one to be found at our 'party page'.
